RIIWHS204D – Work Safely at Heights

Where precautions are not taken when working at heights, the results can be catastrophic causing personal injury and more. Hazards involved in the risk from working at heights include unstable or poorly maintained equipment, weather conditions, fragile roofs, voids, deterioration of materials, slopes and the vertical distance of a fall. Our Working at Heights training is delivered with an emphasis on risk assessment and safety precautions.

The training in its current form meets the criteria set out in the state and territory licensing and unit of competency requirements.

The course content will teach you how to identify work requirements, procedures, and instructions necessary to work safely at heights along with the installation of associated safety equipment. It will also give a detailed description of the various tasks performed when working at heights and finally the cleaning, maintaining and storing of relevant equipment.

RIIWHS202D – Enter & Work in Confined Spaces

Our nationally recognised Confined Spaces course will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter and work in confined spaces within the Resources and Infrastructure industries. The training in its current form meets the criteria of the unit of competency requirements. Confined spaces can be enclosed or partially enclosed and are not intended to be areas where people work. Storage tanks, pressure vessels, pipes and sewers are all examples of confined spaces and due to poor ventilation, it poses a great danger for workers, therefore the appropriate training is vital. At Ascent Training Solutions we consistently deliver high quality training, with an emphasis on risk assessment and safety precautions, on successful completion of the course you will have the confidence to work safely in any confined space. The training course will cover many aspects including how to plan, prepare and carry out work in a confined space, followed by applicable exiting procedures and finally the cleaning and maintenance of the area.

RIIHAN309F – Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations

Our telescopic materials handler operations course, also known as a Telehandler will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a telehandler within the construction and agricultural industries. At Ascent Training Solutions, we provide a detailed training plan for students in a small class environment and in some cases on a one-to-one basis.

The training in its current form meets the criteria of the unit of competency requirements.

A telehandler is a vehicle with a telescopic boom, fitted with a lifting attachment that can extend forwards and upwards. A telehandler can have several different attachments on the end of the boom including a bucket, forks, muck grab or winch making it an extremely versatile lifting machine.

This course will give you detailed training on how to plan and prepare a job, conduct pre-start and operational checks, choose appropriate attachments when transferring loads, shut down procedures, maintenance of the machine, relocation of the telehandler and finally keeping a clean work area.
